Beal High School take part of the Remembrance Day ceremonies

In 2010 Beal High School was approached by Mr Don Drew, a former student of Beal School, who asked if we would like to be part of the Remembrance Day events at the War Memorial on Remembrance Sunday. Mr Drew was keen to involve the current students at Beal High School to be involved, especially as the number of survivors from World War 2 was decreasing. Since 2010 our Head Boy and Head Girl have represented Beal High School in laying a wreath and paying tribute to those soldiers and former students of Beal School who gave their lives in war. This year Tamer Ahamed and Suad Tahir were in attendance at the ceremony.

Head Girl Suad said:

“it is really important for our current students to represent Beal High School in our local community, especially across different generations.”

Head Boy Tamer added:

“it is a privilege to honour the soldiers and former Beal students for the sacrifice they made”.

Mark Smith, Director of Sixth Form at Beal High School said:

“I was very pleased to be asked by Mr Drew to involve our current students in Remembrance Sunday ceremonies. Sadly Mr Drew passed away this year, but I know our current students showed Mr Drew and other former students the respect they truly deserve.”
