It’s been an inspiring journey from start to finish, with each stage offering students the chance to grow in confidence, creativity, and compassion.

Throughout the programme, students explored real-world social issues, chose a charity to support, and then planned and carried out their own social action projects. The variety and thoughtfulness of their ideas were brilliant — from car washes and penalty shootouts, to handing out handmade awareness ribbons, and even setting up obstacle courses to help others understand what it might feel like to live with a physical impairment. The energy, effort, and care that went into each project were clear for all to see.

Before the final judging event, students took part in a public speaking workshop led by First Give. The enthusiasm they showed was fantastic — they were eager to learn how to speak with impact, and really took on board how to refine their delivery and represent their causes with pride.

The final event was a real celebration of their hard work. Our judging panel — made up of a local councillor, the co-headteachers, and the Head of Sixth Form — were blown away by the quality of the presentations. Every team spoke with passion and purpose.

The winning form, 12TAC, represented the King George & Queen’s Hospital Charity. They organised a mile-long crutch walk on the school site and ran an obstacle course to simulate physical challenges, with students donating to take part. Their project stood out for its empathy and creativity — and earned their charity a well-deserved £1,000.

Zara-May
“I enjoyed the first give programme as it was an opportunity for me to develop my public speaking skills, work together in a team and come up with new creative ideas.
It was also really great to spread awareness for such a great cause and make a long lasting impact in our school community.”

Abeerah
“I enjoyed the first give programme because it allowed me to strengthen skills such as confidence in public speaking and presenting which are important skills to have in the outside world. I think it’s useful especially for students to understand teamwork skills when it comes to fundraising and its good for the charity as well to get a donation and awareness in a large school.”

Dhasmetha
“I enjoyed the first Give as it taught me the importance of community and how we all need to come together to raise awareness for a cause.
