An important year where students commence with their GCSE studies. We continue to see our students flourish but in Year 10 we find this accelerates with the added independence our pupils have from studying their selected GCSE options, whilst continuing to broaden their knowledge in all subjects, developing skills and techniques required to help them make the necessary progress to obtain the best academic outcomes in all their subjects.  Students will undergo their first experience of sitting formal exams, providing that key experience to best prepare our pupils in advance for their formal GCSE exams in Year 11.  As well as academic progress, we are putting a large emphasis this year on ensuring our learners become confident individuals and well rounded citizens. All year 10 pupils are educated on life outside of school, what key skills are required to be successful and how the simple expectations within school connect to the world of work.

Year 11 is a challenging but exciting year as students are at the final year of their GCSE courses and are preparing themselves for exams and the next steps in their education, or training. Pupils continue to broaden their horizons in extracurricular activities, subject trips and taster days based around courses and careers that they may wish to embark on after completing their GCSE studies. They will prepare for the final exams with a range of guest speakers, including ex-pupils, sharing revision techniques, mock exams and a mock results day. Students are supported with their independent studies so that they are prepared for with their next move, whether it be sixth form, college, or apprenticeship.
