Art & Design Technology Exhibition

The Art & Design Technology Exhibition celebrated the achievements of our Year 11 and Year 13 students as they completed their GCSE and A Level courses. The exhibition provided an opportunity for students to showcase the work they have developed throughout their studies and to reflect on the progress they have made over the course of their qualifications.

The display featured work from Fine Art, Photography, Product Design and Design for the Built Environment. Visitors were able to view a wide range of outcomes, including drawings, paintings, photographs, sculptures, architectural models, design portfolios and manufactured products. The breadth of work on display reflected the diverse interests and talents of our students, as well as the high level of skill they have developed.

Alongside the final outcomes, the exhibition highlighted the creative and design processes behind each project. Sketchbooks, development sheets, research materials, initial concepts and testing demonstrated how students refined their ideas over time and responded to feedback. This provided a clear insight into the commitment, resilience and independent thinking required to produce successful coursework and examination projects.

The Product Design and Design for the Built Environment displays showed students’ ability to apply technical knowledge and problem-solving skills to real-world design challenges. The Fine Art and Photography exhibitions demonstrated strong creative exploration, thoughtful personal responses and a confident use of a range of media and techniques.

The exhibition was attended by parents, students and staff and provided an opportunity to recognise the dedication and hard work of our Year 11 and Year 13 leavers. It was particularly pleasing to see the pride students took in presenting their work and sharing their creative journeys. The quality of the exhibition reflected the effort, perseverance and achievements of our students and marked a fitting celebration of their time within the department.
