Year 12 MDV students: Forest School HE & Careers Fair and Alumni talk

5th February 2026 and 9th February 2026

On Thursday 5 February 2026, our Year 12 Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science (MDV) students visited Forest School for the HE and Careers Fair 2026, gaining first-hand insight into a wide range of routes into healthcare and science-based careers.

The visit supported students to explore higher education and career pathways aligned with their ambitions. Students engaged directly with university representatives (including Russell Group institutions) as well as apprenticeship and gap year providers, helping them clarify entry requirements, course options and alternative progression routes.

Universities with medical, dentistry and veterinary provision regularly attending these events include Leeds, Nottingham, Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield, King’s College London (KCL), UCL, Lancaster, East Anglia, Exeter, Aston, Glasgow, Cardiff, Brunel, Swansea, Queen’s Belfast and the Royal Veterinary College.

Student feedback highlighted the value of speaking to multiple exhibitors to refine choices and feel more confident about next steps.

On Monday 9 February 2026, two former Beal students, Hibbah (Medicine) and Zaynab (Dentistry), delivered an engaging talk to Year 12s. They shared practical advice on personal statements, UCAT preparation, building relevant experiences and starting interview preparation early, as well as the importance of staying informed about current healthcare issues.

We are proud of our students’ ambition and engagement, and we look forward to supporting them further with upcoming MDV guidance on personal statements, admissions tests, work experience and interview preparation.
