A Great Start To The Year For KS3!

Our Key Stage 3 students have made a fantastic start to the new academic year in their first few weeks back at school. Students have returned with a positive attitude, a real sense of curiosity and an eagerness to get stuck into the routines and opportunities that a new academic year brings.

Across lessons, students have shown excellent engagement and enthusiasm for their learning, and it has been especially pleasing to see attendance, uniform standards and adherence to our mobile phone policy all off to such a strong start. Thank you for the part you have played in this at home — it really does make a difference.

As we move further into the term, please continue to support your child with the routines that help them get the most from each day:
– Travelling to and from school – Students are ambassadors for the school on their journeys in the morning and afternoon. Unfortunately, we have received some complaints from members of the community regarding the conduct of our students in local residential areas and on the 123 and 179 bus services before and after school. While the vast majority of our students conduct themselves in an exemplary fashion, we want to remind all families that our expectations of behaviour extend to the full journey to and from school.
– Arriving on time – Students should be in their form room by 8:30am. When students arrive late, they miss important morning routines, registration, and the start of lessons, which can affect both their learning and that of their peers.
– Being fully equipped for the day – full school uniform, all books and resources needed for lesson and full PE kit on the correct days.

Thank you, as ever, for your continued partnership and support in ensuring a fantastic academic year ahead.
