On Friday 10th July 2026 some of our Year 9 students participated in the East London Science and Technology Competition held at New City College, Havering Sixth Form College. Throughout the day, they worked in mixed teams with students from other schools to complete a range of STEM challenges, including programming a robot to navigate obstacles, creating an E-FIT image using police software, designing and racing an electric vehicle and diagnosing a patient through medical investigations.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to develop teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills while gaining an insight into STEM at a higher level. The day was a fantastic success, with several of our students winning individual challenge awards for their outstanding performance.
Students were awarded plaques and certificates by the Deputy Mayor of Havering and local chancellor.

The students were really engaged and full of confidence. This is a great achievement for our students who really demonstrated their potential in this competition.
